The Oakland Raiders and New York Jets have reached an agreement on a trade that sends offensive lineman Kelechi Osemele to N.Y., per ESPN. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1104834590592696322 When all is said and done, and the trade becomes official, Oakland will receive a 2019 fifth-round pick (No. 140) while New York will get Osemele and a 2019 sixth-round pick (No. 196), per Jerry McDonald of the Oakland Tribune. https://twitter.com/Jerrymcd/status/1104838182804176897 Osemele, 29, was a second-round selection of the Baltimore Ravens in 2012. When his rookie contract expired in 2016, he latched on with the Raiders on a fairly-large deal, agreeing to a contract with some pretty hefty terms: it was a five-year contract worth more than $58 million. Osemele started all 11 of the games he played in last season, continuing his streak of games started; the Iowa State product has started all 93 of the games he has appeared in since entering the NFL. The move brings relief to Oakland in the form of more than $10 million in cap savings, while it does not carry any dead money. As Oakland remains busy in the trade market, they send a valuable guard in Osemele to the Jets to protect franchise quarterback Sam Darnold as he returns for his sophomore season.
