Pessimism surrounding Adams, Jones?

There is growing pessimism surrounding Packers wide receiver Davante Adams (hamstring) and Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring), according to multiple reports. Don't be surprised if they don't play on Sunday.

Milano, Edmunds will play for Bills

Bills linebackers Tremaine Edmunds (shoulder) and Matt Milano (hamstring) will both be active for the Bills today, according to Kim Jones of NFL Network.

Updates on Cowboys' Smith, Lawrence

Cowboys left tackle Tyron Smith (neck) will be a true gametime decision on Sunday while defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence is good to go, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Waller, Jacobs good to go vs. Pats

Raiders tight end Darren Waller (knee) and running back Josh Jacobs (hip) are expected to play in Week 3 against the Patriots, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Duke Johnson won't play Sunday

Texans running back Duke Johnson Jr. (ankle) is not expected to play in Week 3, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Golladay, Stills will play in Week 3

A pair of wide receivers are good to go on Sunday. Kenny Golladayof the Lions and Kenny Stillsof the Texans are both on track to play this week, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Saints place Ty Montgomery on IR

The Saints have placed running back Ty Montgomery on IR with a hamstring injury. He'll be eligible to return in Week 7 against the Panthers.

Patriots place Josh Uche, David Andrews on IR

The Patriots have placed center David Andrews (broken thumb) and rookie linebacker Josh Uche (foot) on IR. They'll be eligible to return in three weeks.

Trufant ruled out

The Lions have ruled out cornerback Desmond Trufant. He entered the weekend as questionable with a hamstring injury but has evidently been downgraded since.

Chargers place Melvin Ingram, Justin Jones on IR

Defensive linemen Melvin Ingram (knee) and Justin Jones (shoulder) have been placed on the Chargers' injured reserve. They'll be eligible to return after three weeks.

Chidobie Awuzie placed on IR

The Cowboys have placed cornerback Chidobie Awuzie on injured reserve with a hamstring injury. He'll miss at least three weeks of action.

A.J. Terrell tests positive for COVID-19

Falcons cornerback A.J.  Terrell has been placed on the COVID-19 injured list after he tested positive for the deadly virus. There's no minimum stint for this type of IR, so Terrell will return once he can produce several negative test results.

Malcolm Brown set to play this week

The Rams might be without running back Cam Akers (ribs) but they will have Malcolm Brown (pinkie finger) back in the offensive system on Sunday. He was left off the injury report and is on track to play against the Bills.

Watkins in concussion protocol

Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins is currently under the league's concussion protocol and has less than 72 hours left to be activated if he has a shot at playing and being a solid FLEX option this week.

Golladay not 100 percent

Lions wideout Kenny Golladay said he is not currently 100 percent but still expects to play in his season debut against the Cardinals on Sunday.

Davante Adams believed to be doubtful

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur informed the media on Thursday that wide receiver Davante Adams will "probably" be listed as doubtful ahead of Green Bay's Week 3 game against the Saints.

David Andrews breaks thumb

New England Patriots center David Andrews is expected to miss at least one week of action after breaking his thumb in Week 2 against Seattle.

McDermott confident in John Brown

Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that he's "confident

is trending in the right direction" ahead of this weekend's tilt with the Rams.

49ers rule out Garoppolo, plan to start Nick Mullens

Young quarterback Nick Mullens is expected to get the nod to start for the 49ers this week. Jimmy Garoppolo had a shot at playing but will give his ankle another week to heal.

Michael Thomas, Julio Jones up in the air for Week 3

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports that Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) is not expected to play this week as he continues to recover. Meanwhile, Rapoport mentioned that Falcons wideout Julio Jones's (hamstring) status is "up in the air" and he will be a true gametime decision.

Bears place John Jenkins on IR

The Bears have officially placed defensive lineman John Jenkins on injured reserve with a thumb injury.

McVay pessimistic regarding Akers

Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters that Cam Akers (rib) isn't recovering as fast as the team had hoped or expected. The rookie running back left last week's game against the Eagles early and is now on track to sit out Week 3.

Davante Adams not expected to play?

Packers wide receiver Davante Adams is dealing with a hamstring injury every since last week's game against Detroit. Now, his Week 3 status is in doubt. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Adams's chance to play this week "doesn't look great."

Joe Noteboom lands on IR

Rams lineman Joe Noteboom, who was already ruled out for Week 3, is now being placed on IR with a calf injury.

Troy Dye placed on IR

Vikings linebacker Troy Dye was placed on IR with a foot injury. The rookie was set to take over as the starter following a pectoral injury to Anthony Barr but will instead miss time himself.

Kittle could play in Week 3

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, 49ers tight end George Kittle (knee) has a chance to play in Week 3 against the Giants despite concerns surrounding MetLife Stadium's field conditions.

D.J. Chark ruled out

The Jaguars have ruled out wide receiver D.J. Chark for Monday's game against Miami. It's somewhat concerning that the team didn't wait until gametime to test him out, but perhaps they're just being extra cautious during a short week. Either way, Keelan Cole and Laviska Shenault are candidates for big games on Thursday night's national stage.

Sammy Watkins enters concussion protocol

Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkins entered the league's concussion protocol after suffering a neck injury on Sunday. Watkins tweeted on Tuesday that he was "healthy," but he now has just a few days to clear the concussion protocol in order to play on Monday.

Trevon Diggs up in the air for Week 3

Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (shoulder) learned on Thursday that he did not sustain structural damage. The rookie has a shot to play this week.

Jets' offense battling injuries

The Jets' offense can't catch a break. Starting wide receivers Breshad Perriman and Jamison Crowder aren't expected to suit up this week, leavaing 32-year-old Chris Hogan as the starter with Josh Malone and Braxton Berrios backing him up.

Richie Incognito lands on IR

While not a tear, Richie Incognito's Achilles' injury from Monday is still acting up. Originally believed to be not serious, the ailment will result in an IR stint for the veteran left guard.

Josh Lambo placed on IR

The Jaguars have placed Josh Lambo (hip) on injured reserve. The reliable kicker will be replaced on the active roster by undraafted rookie Brandon Wright.

Jalen Reagor tears UCL

Eagles rookie receiver Jalen Reagor can't catch a break. As NBC Sports' John Clark reported, the first-round pick battled a shoulder injury all summer and is now expected to miss signifcant time with a torn UCL in his thumb. Reports on Reagor's timetable have varied, though the growing concensus is that he'll miss roughly six weeks.

Tevin Coleman lands on IR

The 49ers placed running back Tevin Coleman on IR with an MCL sprain. He will now miss three at least three weeks, though various experts have spculated he could be out for at least a month.

Garoppolo, Kittle to miss second straight game?

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan speculated that tight end George Kittle's status could revolve around the team's confidence in the MetLife Stadium surface that handed serious injuries to five key San Francisco players last week. Meanwhile, Shanahan said that Nick Mullens will "most likely" start at quarterback this week, meaning Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) will presumably be inactive.

McCaffrey placed on IR

The Panthers have placed Christian McCaffrey on IR, meaning he cannot return for at least three weeks. This lines up with the four-to-six-week timetable reported on Monday.

Tyrod Taylor dealing with punctured lung after inaccurate injection

In a baffling turn of events, Adam Schefter of ESPN has reported that Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor was rushed to the hospital prior to Sunday's game after the team doctor punctured Taylor's lung while trying to administer a pain-killing drug in the quarterback's chest to treat a rib injury. He's been advised not to play indefinitely, meaning rookie Justin Herbert will get his second straight start under center.

Nick Nosa, Solomon Thomas placed on IR

The 49ers lost both Nick Bosa and Solomon Thomas to ACL tears last week and are placing both of them on IR. To fill their roster spots, San Franisco is signing Ezekiel Ansah and promoting Dion Jordan to the roster.

DeMarcus Walker to miss time

Broncos defensive lineman DeMarcus Walker (calf) is expected to miss several weeks of action but will avoid an IR placement for now.

Julio Jones's hamstring injury more serious than expected?

Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter said he believes there is "more to Julio Jones' hamstring injury than he led on." Often a limited participant in practice, we'll have to monitor Jones's status more than we usually do now that there's legitimate oncern.

Rams rule out Joe Noteboom

Rams left guard Joe Noteboom (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Buffalo.

Sterling Shepard lands on IR

Sterling Shepard will miss at least three weeks with turf toe. Evan Engram, Darius Slayton, and Golden Tate will see an increased target share with Shepard and Saquon Barkley out.

Titans place Senorise Perry on IR

Senorise Perry will miss at least three games after being placed on IR. Darrynton Evans's role as the No. 2 back in Tennessee has been solidifed while Jeremy McNichols is expected to join the team following a promotion from the practice squad.

Jonathan Abram dealing with shoulder injury

Raiders safety Jonathan Abram is undergoing tests for a right shoulder injury after a scary collision with a TV cart on Monday night, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Abram is expected to be good to go against New England this week, though Las Vegas will proceed with caution considering this is the same shoulder that ended Abram's 2019 season.

Bud Dupree battling shoulder ailment

Steelers linebacker Bud Dupree is battling a shoulder injury, according to head coach Mike Tomlin. Dupree will likely see limited reps in practice but should be good to go for Sunday's game.

Diontae Johnson has toe injury

Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin announced receiver Diontae Johnson is dealing with a lingering toe injury that has caused him to pop up on the injury report for two weeks. He's still expected to play this week against Houston.

Tuesday, Sept. 22

Jaguars, Dolphins announce injury reports

Marquise Blair placed on IR

Seahawks cornerback Marquise Blair has been placed on injured reserve after suffering a season-ending knee injury during a collision with teammate K.J. Wright on Sunday.

Watkins announces he is "healthy"

Chiefs wide receiver Sammy Watkinstweeted on Tuesday that he is "healthy" despite taking a hit to his head on Sunday. He finished with one catch for 11 yards.

Phillip Dorsett placed on IR

Seahawks wide receiver Phillip Dorsett continues to struggle to stay healthy. After missing the first two weeks of the season with a foot injury, the former New England wideout will land on Seattle's IR for the time being. He'll be eligible to return in Week 6.

Davante Adams's status up in the air

According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, Packers wide receiver Davante Adams' hamstring strain is believed to be minor, but he's not a lock to play on Sunday against the Saints. Wednesday's practice will surely provide more info on the wideout's status going forward.

Isaac Seumalo lands on IR

Eagles left guard Isaac Seumalo suffered a knee injury on Sunday and while the severity is unclear, he's banged-up enough to land on IR.

Dee Ford won't play in Week 3

The 49ers continue to be hit left and right with injuries, and Tuesday is no different. According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, defensive lineman Dee Ford (back) won't play in Week 3 and could miss even more time on top of that as there is no clear timetable for his return.

Richie Incognito's Achilles injury not serious

The Raiders don't appear to be too concerned about the Achilles injury that Richie Incognito suffered on Monday. As of now, it appears the offensive lineman will suit up in Week 3 against New England.

A.J. Brown's status up in the air?

Speaking on Tuesday, Titans wide receivers coach Rob Moore could not comment on A.J. Brown's status going forward. "When he does get back, whether it’s this week or next week, he has to prepared and ready to go from a mental standpoint," Moore said. "He can’t lose that edge that he got in training camp."

David DeCastro to make debut in Week 3

Steelers offensive lineman David DeCastro (knee) is expected to return after a one-month absence. He'll make his season debut on Sunday against the 0-2 Texans.

Monday, Sept. 21

Jaguars, Dolphins announce injury reports

The Dolphins and Jaguars did not practice Monday. Their injury report is an estimation.

Malcolm Brown, Cam Akers battling injuries

Rams running back Malcolm Brown fractured his left pinkie finger on Sunday and underwent surgery to repair the injury. He's expected to make a quick turnaround as the team intends to have him available next Sunday. The organization is less pessimistic regarding rookie running back Cam Akers, though. He is dealing with separated cartilage in his ribs and could miss Week 3, but he has yet to be ruled out.

Connor McGovern considered week-to-week

Jets head coach Adam Gase says center Connor McGovern is week-to-week as he deals with a hamstring injury.

Brandon Scherff to miss three to five weeks

Talented Washington guard Brandon Scherff sprained his MCL on Sunday and could miss more than a month, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. He'll be placed on IR as he recovers.

Cardinals place Maxx Williams on IR

Cardinals tight end Maxx Williams was placed on IR with an ankle injury. He can return to play ahead of Week 6.

Tyrod Taylor hospitalized after complications from medicine

Chargers quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who was a late scratch on Sunday with a chest issue, was taken to the hospital after he experiences complications from a pregame injection to treat a rib injury suffered earlier in the week.

Jimmy Garoppolo could play Sunday

In a sudden turn of events, Jimmy Garoppolo could play next week despite suffering a high-ankle sprain on Sunday against the Jets. The original timetable for Garoppolo was several weeks, so a one-week turnaround would be quite the improvement.

Tevin Coleman to miss time

The 49ers' backfield took another hit as Tevin Coleman suffered a knee injury and will miss several weeks, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Mostert has MCL sprain, will miss Week 3

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says running back Raheem Mostert suffered an MCL sprain and isn't expected to play in the team's Week 3 game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium.

Tavon Young tears ACL

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh confirmed cornerback Tavon Young tore his ACL and is done for the season.

Anthony Barr done for season

Vikings linebacker Anthony Barr suffered a torn pectoral and is done for the season.

Chris Godwin returns

Buccaneers fans got some good news on an otherwise frustrating Monday. Chris Godwin cleared concussion protocol and is on track to play this week against Denver.

Dre'Mont Jones placed on IR

Broncos defensive lineman Dre'Mont Jones suffered a PCL strain and bone bruise on Sunday. He'll miss four to six weeks and has landed on injured reserve as he recovers.

Brandon Linder day-to-day with knee injury

Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone announced center Brandon Linder suffered a knee injury on Sunday and is currently day-to-day. Perhaps we'll know more on Tuesday.

Bruce Irvin tears ACL

Add another one to the ACL list. Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin suffered a season-ending ACL tear against the Patriots on Sunday night.

Parris Campbell (PCL) out indefinitely

Colts wide receiver Parris Campbell avoided an ALC tear but suffered PCL damage and will miss several games. In the meantime, he's been placed on IR.

Drew Lock to miss "at least two weeks"

Broncos quarterback Drew Lock will miss at least two weeks as he deals with an injury to his throwing shoulder, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN. Jeff Driskel will serve as the starter in the meantime.

Breshad Perriman battling ankle injury

Jets wide receiver Breshad Perriman suffered an ankle injury on Sunday and is week-to-week. If both he and Jamison Crowder can't go, Braxton Berrios and Chris Hogan will suit up as the starting wideouts.

Malik Hooker tears Achilles

Colts safety Malik Hooker can't catch a break. He continues to catch the injury bug, this time suffering a season-ending Achilles tear.

Denver Broncos wide receiver Courtland Sutton tore his ACL on Sunday against the Steelers. He'll be placed on IR and is done for the year.

Christian McCaffrey to miss four to six weeks

According to various reports, Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey will miss four to six weeks after injuring his ankle on Sunday.

Sterling Shepard could miss time

Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard is dealing with turf toe and will undergo an MRI to determine whether or not he will need to miss time.

Mike Boone dealing with concussion

Vikings running back Mike Boone suffered a concussion on Sunday against the Colts and will be evaluated throughout the week.

Byron Jones's status in doubt for Thursday

Brian Flores said Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones's hamstring injury "would have to heal pretty quickly" in order for him to have a shot at playing on Thursday night against Jacksonville.
